The Stock Show and Rodeo Parade is an annual event for our unit. We always march in formation,
as the parade is non-mechanized. In fact it's the largest non
mechanized parade in the U. S. You'll see more horses there than
anywhere else. We normally form up at 9:00 and
are done around noon. |

MAX EFFORT - Battle of Beaumont Ranch
Grandview, TX Civil War Weekend
Promoted by the Civil War Center of Texas and Hosted by 13th Texas Cavalry. Represented are branches, of U.S. and C.S. artillery, dismounted cavalry, infantry, medical, engineers, sutler’s, period civilians and the public are welcome. Normal amenities provided, wood, available water, horse hay and hay for bedding. Limited Powder rations for the cannons. We have scripted battles Saturday and Sunday, Ladies Tea on Saturday, Military dress Ball Saturday Evening, Church Services on Sunday morning plus much more. The second full weekend in March we offer a full reenactment with battles both Saturday and Sunday, town life, and living history demonstrations. There will be town raids with battles to capture the town both days. Beaumont Ranch is now a TMVI Battalion Event. The whole TMVI is supporting the March event!

From Ft. Worth: Drive South on I-35W to Exit 15 (FM 916 Maypearl). Go East 1 ½ miles to County Road 202, turn right. Go 2/3 of a mile to County Road 102, turn right (you will see red pipe fencing) The Entrance will be on the left.

RV Park: We offer 30 amp electrical hookups, water hook ups are available as well as a dump station. $20 per night includes water and electric hookups, $70 per week for water and electric hookups only Fishing in our ponds is free when you bring your own fishing gear. Fishing is catch and release. The paddle boats, hiking, playground beach volley ball and horse shoe pit games are all complimentary here at Beaumont Ranch.
February through November, on Friday nights from 5:30PM until 10:00PM we offer a Fish Fry Buffet with live music, dancing, mechanical bull, and bounce house for the kids, pool table, foosball, shuffle board and afun family atmosphere. Pleasant Hill re-enactments and activities in the re-enactors
camp will take place 3 miles north of Pleasant Hill at 23271 Hwy,
175, Pelican, La. Pleasant Hill is done on actual battlefield
from the Red River campaign and they use some awesome Pyrotechnics
We should be camped in the same area as always, back by the 11th Cav,
and 3rd LA. Here's some directions to get us there....
- Take I-20 East 148 miles to LA exit 11, ( LA 3132 East) toward Alexandria
- Drive about 8 miles to Exit 7, (LA 149 South)
- Drive about 15 miles to exit 186 (LA 175)
- Go through Mansfield, LA following the signs for 175 South.
- Head out of Mansfield on 175 South and drive about 13 miles
- The event will be on the left, look for lots of tents and trailers.
- Once checked in, head straight back to the back right corner of the
campsites. That's where we will be.

The
public is invited to commemorate Civil War history and enjoy daily living
history camps and demonstrations, period music, presentations on Civil
War-era fashions, ladies tea, and special discussions about Civil War-related
topics. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Attractions include historic buildings such as the 1872 Heritage House, an 1893 dance pavilion, as well as a Civil War, vintage, steel-barreled Val Verde cannon, two scenic footbridges that span Jack's Creek, a hiking trail, fishing, and boating/canoeing.

Temple's second Civil War reenactment - Come & watch history come to life on the battlegrounds of North Temple Industrial Park. Full-scale battles, period-correct encampments, living history, Military surgeon demonstrations, & Cavalry competitions will be held on Sat. & Sun. Local school children will experience a Living History Day on Friday, May 18. All civilians & Re-enactors are encouraged to attend the Friday school event. Admission charges will be waived for Re-enactors & Civilians in period dress who arrive on Fri. May 18th for Living History Day.

The Tales 'n' Trails Museum in Nocona, Texas, in conjunction with the Nocona Chamber of Commerce and the Montague Co. Old Settlers Assn. is planning our first annual Roots & Boots Festival to be held June 15 & 16! Our group is planning to have some civil war re-inactments, vintage baseball games, free games for the kids, demonstrations of arts, crafts, etc. of the time period, and of course music and food! (Some of you we visited with in Yukon, OK)
We would like to invite your groups to join us as well as any suggestions you might have in what we need to do to make this run as smoothly as possible as it hopefully grows in the future. Thank you for your time and you interest in preserving our history! We look forward to hearing from you.

The entire CWCT is should be coming to the September event. It'll be really awesome to have a large civilian group at the fort, which in the early days would be perfectly appropriate, as the fort served as a jumping off point to those headed west. It also offered protection to homesteaders in times of conflict.

This is a one day event, in Arlington, at the Log Cabin Village off Front Street. Gearldine Mills is the coordinator for it, and she told me that we can bring muskets, side arms, displays, and we possibly can do some firing.... This is a great chance to drill, educate, skirmish, and fellowship. I've heard from a lot of y'all so far, and I'd like to see us all there if we can do it....
We need to be there by 9:00 is possible. The event will go until 4:00 in the afternoon. To get there, you can exit off Interstate 30 at Cooper Street and go south to Division Street. Turn Left going East and go approximately four blocks to Pecan Street. Turn Right on Pecan and go one block. The Park is on your right. There are two cabins with nice porches that we can set up around.

Civil War Weekend

The Civil War was one of the most trying times in our nation’s history. During Civil War Weekend,visitors will walk the streets of a town about to be touched by the hand of war. We will interpret the early years of the conflict of a country on the brink of battle. Reenactors from across the region will present living history demonstrations, including combat scenarios, throughout the weekend. The Col. George Reeves' 11th Texas Cavalry Camp #349, Sons of Confederate Veterans, in conjunction with the Grayson County Frontier Village and Museum will be hosting a living history/reenactment. This event has been held the previous three years at Fort Washita, Ok., but this year will be held in Texas to benefit the Frontier Village. "We are hoping that by bringing it back into Texas we will have an even bigger turnout than in the past," Both Confederate and Union troops will be needed all three days. Friday, Gunfights, skirmishes and public interaction, including first person impressions, will be held throughout the event. Local Boy Scout Troops as well as event participants are invited to engage in a Dutch oven cook off on Saturday with a cash prize going to first place. Drawings for swords and knives will also be offered for cash donations.
Camping for re-enactors only will be available within the Frontier Village among original historic buildings. Water and firewood and Saturday evening dinner will also be provided. Grays on County Frontier Village is located within Loy Lake Park located between Sherman and Denison, Tx. just off US Hwy. 75. The park is located approximately 55 miles north of Dallas.
