Battle for Galveston Harbor
Galveston Island, TX

Folks, We are looking at going to Galveston Island for the 148th anniversary of the original battle there. Our friends in the 1st Texas and the TMVI are putting it on, and it should be a great event.
It's Jan 8 and 9th right in the historic downtown, where the real battle was fought. This is not a Max Effort, but I think it's going to be interesting for sure. I've registered the 13th with them already, so I just need to know who is coming so we can get our camping set up.
Thanks, see y'all on the Island! Mark

At this time we do not have a number of how many have registered for the event. Since this is the first time the Battle of Galveston has been reenacted in many years (about 27) we won't have a good idea until closer to the event when more registration forms have been sent in. But if you would, I'm sure we would need US troops. We'll go over the battle scenario with commanders discuss at the event. This weekend, at Dickens on the Strand in Galveston, Mike Bringhurst, Jeff Thompson & I will go over the ground again, which is in the city (old down town). Below is a link with a lot of information and registration form. Thank you for your interest ! Fred Anthamatten http://www.galvestonhistory.org/Battle_of_Galveston.asp
